Among liberal arts colleges , Williams, Amherst, and Swarthmore lead the pack. The magazine also presents its best universities in the world : The UK is on top, with Cambridge at No. 1, followed by Harvard and Yale (don’t ask us why Yale beats Princeton worldwide but not nationally). (NEWSER) - What is it with New England universities? Just days after news broke that a sex assault accusation may have scuttled a Yale quarterback's chance at a Rhodes Scholarship comes word of a "joke" rape video aired on the University of Connecticut's student broadcast network. The "comedy sketch," part of UCTV's "Shenanigans" series, reveals a crying female—called a "stinky bitch"—who is "crying rape." The sketch ends with the character being strangled by her attacker. (NEWSER) - The Patrick Witt sex assault story gets messier: The Yale Daily News, which was just last year named the one of the gutsiest campus newspapers , knew for months that the Yale quarterback and onetime Rhodes candidate had been accused of sexual assault, but sat on the story. On Jim Romenesko's blog , last year's opinion editor reveals that the paper knew about the charges as early as November, as confirmed by multiple people who used to be or are still involved with the paper. And that's not all: During this period of time, the editor-in-chief of the paper actually considered running an editorial urging wealthy alumni to charter a private jet for Witt, so he wouldn't be forced to make his seemingly heroic choice between the Yale-Harvard game and his Rhodes interview. No more box trucks, either

(NEWSER) - Yale has banned kegs from all student athletic games or functions in the wake of a U-Haul crash that killed a woman at the Harvard-Yale football game in November. The new rules also prohibit box trucks and the like from tailgate parties unless driven by an official vendor, reports AP . In the November fatality, police say an undergrad driving a U-Haul with beer kegs struck three women, then crashed into other U-Haul vans. He passed a sobriety test, and no charges have been filed.
