California's John Gardner will serve 2 life sentences

(USER SUBMITTED) - Confirming suspicions that have swirled since his arrest for the murder of 17-year-old Chelsea King, John Gardner admitted yesterday to killing both King and 14-year-old Amber Dubois almost a year earlier. The San Diego district attorney won't seek the death penalty against Gardner, reports NBC San Diego , who had guided authorities to the skeletal remains of Dubois after his arrest on condition that that could not be used against him. Man charged in teen's death listed as 'Jason Stud'

(NEWSER) - Turns out a MySpace user with a sexy profile is a registered sex offender who has been charged with the rape and murder of California teenager Chelsea King. MySpace has now removed the profile of John Albert Gardner, who used a fake name, email and hometown to register his account. The profile lists his name as "Jason Stud" and "Energizer Bunny," names the Playboy Mansion as his hometown, and lists CSI and Bones among his favorite TV shows, AP notes. More»

Searchers turn up evidence: cops

(NEWSER) - A registered sex offender has been arrested after evidence was found linking him to the disappearance of a suburban San Diego teenager, according to investigators. John Gardner was busted yesterday after some 1,400 volunteers and 127 officers searched Rancho Bernardo Park for any sign of Chelsea King, 17.
