Jason Segel has made no secret of his love for Hillary Clinton, telling Us earlier this year that he wants to co-star with her ("I just feel like she would be good at comedy") and, he admitted to Jimmy Fallon last week, often joking with How I Met Your Mother fans that the mother is actually going to be played by Clinton. Turns out Clinton is in on the joke: Segel told Fallon that she actually sent him a "rejection letter" turning down his offers to work together, and yesterday Politico got a copy of the note.
"I was delighted to read about your interest in sharing the big screen with me," it reads. "As you can imagine, I am a little occupied at the moment, but perhaps someday I can help you forget Sarah Marshall … again. My only condition is that there be Muppets involved, and that is non-negotiable." Clinton is all over pop culture lately, what with her painting the town in Cartagena and getting in on her own texting meme.
