Pink Floyd's David Gilmour Flees WWII Bomb Unexploded device found during mansion renovation By Rob Quinn, Newser Staff Posted May 29, 2012 12:15 AM CDT 5 comments Comments "Mother, do you think they'll drop the bomb?" (AP Photo/Joel Ryan) (Newser) – Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour and his wife were forced to flee when workers renovating their mansion uncovered not another brick in the wall, but an unexploded World War II bomb. A Royal Navy team was called in to remove the 60-inch device from under the home, reports Classic Rock Magazine. "They’ve found a bomb under our building site—we think it’s a bit of old pip but the Ministry of Defense are on their way," his wife, Polly, tweeted, later adding: "They’ve taken away our bomb. Incendiary—but missing the bit that makes it go bang."
