And they're not necessarily the ones you'd expect

(Newser) – We all know Ted Nugent loves his guns—but some of these other celebrities with gun licenses, rounded up by the Huffington Post, may surprise you:

  • Miranda Lambert: The country singer started carrying a weapon after receiving a death threat.
  • Marc Anthony: JLo's ex is licensed to carry a gun.

  • James Earl Jones: He's a member of the NRA, and once said that "because criminals carry guns, we decent law-abiding citizens should also have guns. Otherwise they will win and the decent people will lose."
  • Whoopi Goldberg: Also a member of the NRA.
  • Brangelina: Angelina Jolie says she purchased "original, real guns of the type we used in Tomb Raider for security," and that she and Brad Pitt are OK with having a gun in the house: "If anybody comes into my home and tries to hurt my kids, I've no problem shooting them."

We all have our uncertainties, our fears, our anxieties!! But real courage is in handling them creatively and steadfastly, and not giving in to a culture of violence. We all imagine that we're somehow justified in our actions (in arming ourselves) by the fact that our surroundings are so variable and we are ever vulnerable to some sort of predation. But everybody can claim this trite and putrid rationalization!!! Where is the lone courageous person who says "NO!" to all the social and environmental pulls to viciousness and oppression and violence?  Answer: He was born about 2012 years ago in the Levant. And he did not die of natural causes, but at the hands of those who had already sold out to those same oppression pulls.  And now (in nuclear weapons) this culture of violence holds its muzzle to the heads of everyone in the entire world! That is the consequence of maintaining and rationalizing a culture of violence!!!

Having a gun in your home to protect your kids doesn't mean you "Love" guns... The title is misleading. How about Celebs who OWN guns.. this story is worthless.

Man, Angelina looks like crap.  I've picked up last-call skanks that look better than that walking price tag.
