(Newser) Snow White and the Huntsman was fairest in the land this weekend, banking a hearty $56.3 million and knocking Men in Black 3 to second place with $29.3 million, says the Hollywood Reporter. Overseas, however, MIB3 trumped Snow White, $79.1 million to $39.3 million, and in the UK Snow White lost to another Charlize Theron movie, Prometheus (which opens in the US next weekend, the LA Times notes). Domestically, The Avengers took third with $20.3 million, making it the third-top-grossing film ever, reports Reuters. Meanwhile, Battleship stalled in fourth place ($4.8 million) and The Dictator took fifth ($4.7 million)
