(Newser) – Frank Cady, best known for his role as general store operator Sam Drucker on Green Acres, died on Friday, reports the Los Angeles Times. He was 96. Cady was mostly known as a character actor, and appeared on a wide range of television shows in the 1950s and 1960s. He had a recurring role on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, and also appeared as Drucker on the Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction. His most famous turn on the silver screen was a small role he had in Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window.

"You get typecast. I'm remembered for those shows and not for some pretty good acting jobs I did other times," he said in a 1995 interview. "I suppose I ought to be grateful for that. Because otherwise I wouldn’t be remembered at all. I've got to be one of the luckiest guys in the world."

I liked this man, I watched all of these shows, even they play them on the ME TV, channel. I must confess however to thinking that he had passed away. I think the only performers left from Petticourt Juncton, are Bobbie Jo, Betty JO, June Lockhart, Steve MInor, Eb from Green Acres. As one can see Im a fan lol.
