Alec Baldwin is getting married to fiancée Hilaria Thomas in quite a romantic spot: the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in New York City—otherwise known as the site of The Godfather's baptism scene, which involved death parting us from a number of people. The happy couple will be wed there the weekend of June 30, the New York Post reports, which also helpfully notes that the church, built around 1810, has also featured in two Martin Scorsese films.
"This wasn’t a quick decision. It took a lot of planning," a source says. The couple got engaged in April after moving in together last August. The marriage will be the first for 28-year-old yoga instructor Thomas, and the second for 54-year-old Baldwin, whose 2001 split with Kim Basinger brought us heartwarming stories like this one.
