Debby Looming, La. Declares Emergency

Flooding likely in low-lying coastal areas as storm moves in

(Newser) – With Tropical Storm Debby bearing down on Louisiana, Gov. Bobby Jindal was taking no chances with his state today, declaring a state of emergency in the low-lying coastal areas the storm threatened to flood. Debby had already unloaded significant amounts of rain on Florida today, and was forecast to increase to hurricane strength by the time she makes landfall in Louisiana—though the location and timing of that landfall were unclear, notes the AP. The storm was moving slowly northeast at about 6mph.

JINDAL is a misinformed fool; what an idiot: all the models at the always-reliable weather underground has it moving into FLORIDA, as in AWAY from LOUISIANA.

Here's the actual NWS discussion of the storm: http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/at201204.disc.html ... and here's the newest 5 day forecast track. http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at201204_5day.html The forecast track has been moving steadily Eastward since yesterday, when it was expected to cross the Gulf and go ashore in Texas. Earlier today it was forecast to go ashore around Morgan City, LA and now it is forecast (with "low confidence") to make landfall West of Port St. Joe. This forecast is very likely to change and the computers disagree as to where it's heading.
