If Rielle Hunter's endless saga actually elicited our emotions, she would now just be toying with them: Despite the fact that just last week she revealed she and John Edwards were still together, today on Good Morning America she says they've actually broken up. "We are a family," she says of herself, Edwards, and daughter Quinn, "but as of the end of last week John Edwards and I are no longer a couple. Not at all." The decision was mutual, she adds, calling it "hard" and "painful."
But, asked if she still loves the former presidential candidate, Hunter replied, "I do." She can't speak for Edwards, but says she thinks he still loves her as well. What brought their epic romance down? Constant media scrutiny, among other things. "For me, for my part in it, it's because I'm no longer interested in hiding, hiding our relationship," she says. Would she do it all over again? Despite the fact that she considers her daughter a blessing, Hunter's reply was: "No way. Absolutely not."
