(Newser) – When a former Marine MP started dating a Texas teen and she told him the story of how Elric Shawn Millner got her drunk, raped her, and videotaped the whole thing two years ago, the Marine took action. He befriended the alleged perpetrator, now 24, and pretended to be upset with their mutual acquaintance, prompting Millner to tell him the story of that night and even show him the video. Having visually verified her claims, KHOU reports, the boyfriend convinced the woman to go to police, and Millner was arrested.

Police say the video shows a then-17-year-old victim urinating and vomiting on herself while asking Millner to stop, telling him she was in pain. Instead, he laughed at her and forced her to perform sex acts; another person is also shown in the video. She couldn't remember what happened the next day—but Millner showed her the video. The woman finally went to police at her boyfriend's prodding, and he told authorities what he had seen on the video. Millner has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, and the video will be used as evidence, KRTK reports.

What a wonderful young man. First, he was caring and sensitive enough to listen to her story. Then he went to some serious effort to be around the creep that hurt her. Then, he didn't kill him. He found the evidence, viewed it and called the cops. There should be some kind of award, other than his lady's love, for above and beyond the call of duty in personal relationships.

Way to go, Texas men! I hate virtually everything else about your state, but y'all sure know how to avenge a lady.
