(Newser) – Detroit police today confiscated animals that might have been used in dogfighting and cockfighting rings. The authorities moved after a local rapper known as Young Calicoe allegedly made a video showing off the "zoo" behind a city home. The video shows chained-up pit bulls and caged roosters, reports the Detroit News. "I hope we don't get indicted for that—that Michael Vick-type s--t," the man in the video says.

"We fight them, too," the man says while pointing to a rooster. "That's a grand champ right there." Caged puppies are "champions in the making." Officers removed the animals and brought them to the Michigan Humane Society and are still investigating what, if anything, was going on. Young Calicoe's reaction so far: On Sunday night, he tweeted: "If u find a video of me 'FIGHTING DOGS' PLEEEEZE LET ME KNO." When someone tweeted back, "Please tell me you dont have one," the rapper responded, "HELL NAAAW."

in Hawaii, the legislature actually debated on whether or not they should acknowledge the "cultural significance" of cock fighting. Pathetic.
