Kristen Wiig: 'I'm Happier Than I've Ever Been'

New boyfriend is a big reason, she tells 'Marie Claire'

(Newser) Marie Claire's new cover girl is Kristen Wiig, and the magazine's interview makes clear that the newly departed SNL star is in a nice place:

  • New relationship: She's been with Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti for a while now, and that on top of her blossoming career leads to this declaration: "I will say that I'm happier than I've ever been, and I feel very lucky right now." It's because of "where I am now. Who he is. Those are the two big ones."
  • On the SNL finale: "It was a very surreal moment," she says of the closing She's Like a Rainbow tribute. "You have all this stuff going on in your head, like, 'I can't believe seven years has gone by, and I'm going to miss all these people.' And I'm like, 'Oh, by the way, Mick Jagger is to my right, and I just danced a waltz with him.' So there's that."
  • Smile: The after-party was apparently quite a bash, because Wiig says she woke up with a chipped front tooth.

She is a real stand-out.  The curve-balls she throws indicates her smarts.  She could be a female Steve Martin, if that makes any sense. LOL.  Hope she lands on her feet.
