(Newser) – Big, big news in the world of Twilight fandom: Kristen Stewart (aka Bella) and Robert Pattinson (aka Edward), a mega-couple both onscreen and in real life, may be headed toward Splitsville. Us reports that Stewart, 22, was caught (and photographed) kissing Rupert Sanders, the 41-year-old director of her recent film Snow White and the Huntsman. Sanders is married with two kids, yet “it seemed like they couldn’t get enough” of all the making out, says one photographer.

Us calls the incident the “biggest fear” of Pattinson, 26. Here are some other takes:

  • “Kristen Stewart Cheated on Robert Pattinson, Because True Love Is Dead.” That’s Vulture’s headline; the blog also notes that “that sound you hear is a thousand Twilight: Breaking Dawn 2 publicists simultaneously breathing into a paper bag. Press tour should be … interesting.”
  • “Kristen Cheats on Rob, World Spins Off Axis.” The Atlantic Wire’s headline, followed by a very amusing imaginary scenario penned by Richard Lawson including the line, “Shrieeeek! Kristen Stewart is supposed to be dating, for a long time now, her beloved immortal Twilight costar Robert Pattinson! Oh sweet sorrows in heaven, this can't be happening! Not Kristen and Rob! Not Kiki and R-Patz!”
  • “Kristen Stewart Cheats on Vampire Boyfriend With Married Human Father of Two.” Jezebel’s headline. “Lo, and birds will fall dead from the sky, fish will float dead to the surface of the ocean and the email service on your smartphone will cease to work for approximately 10 minutes, for Kristen Stewart has allegedly cheated on Robert Pattinson,” writes Anna Breslaw.
