Chick-fil-A Protesters Stage Kiss-ins

As same-sex couples smooch, lesbians invite chain owner to dinner

(Newser) – It didn't draw crowds quite as big as Wednesday's Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, but gays and lesbians held kiss-in demonstrations at the chain's restaurants across the country yesterday to protest owner Dan Cathy's opposition to gay marriage. Cops were called to one Hollywood restaurant not because of the smooching, but because of the heavy media presence, reports the Los Angeles Times. Elsewhere in California, police are investigating graffiti at a Chick-fil-A restaurant that said "Tastes like hate" and had a picture of cow, the AP reports.

Around two dozen protesters with signs like "We're here, we're queer, and we're not eating" showed up at a Chick-fil-A restaurant near the company's Georgia headquarters, the New York Times reports. They made it clear they were not protesting the chain's local employees, who provided the activists with free lemonade. One of the protesters, a married lesbian with two children, has started an online petition inviting Cathy to have dinner with her and her family. She wants to ask him whether he really thinks "that we are not the same kind of normal family as you and your wife?"

Just an FYI, next to no one showed up for these protests. The most a location had was 15-20 something people and that was at a location in California (go figure). I drove by a few Chick-Fil-A's in my area to see if anything was happening, not a single person protesting, though there were cars wrapped around the block trying to get to each location to eat. Some Facebook group apparently expected 250-500 protesters at a NY location and not a soul showed up either. Say what you will but that's pretty LOL worthy And then there was this in California http://images.comcorpusa.com/440/0/crop/ketk/media/news/tastelikehate.jpg And these over in Missouri: https://p.twimg.com/Azeq5l3CEAATU19.jpg https://p.twimg.com/Aze_4DaCEAAuq-Z.jpg So much for a civil protest.

The "Kiss-in" was a dumb idea. All opposed to Dan Cathy's position should have bought McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Church's, et ala, ate their meals in front of all Chick-fil-A and fill up their garbage cans with their wrappers, bags, cups  --  well, you get the idea. [BTW: Isn't the name Dan and Cathy a contradiction in gender?]
