(AP Photo /Don Petersen) (Newser) – Is "Chris the Baker" the new Joe the Plumber? The Virginia bakery owner turned down a photo op with Joe Biden—and since the news broke, business has exploded. "The overwhelming majority of people have been supportive," says Chris McMurray, citing callers "from Texas and Chicago and California" who order cookies and say "to send them to veterans and homeless shelters. It's been incredible." It was his opposition to President Obama's policies that prompted the move, McMurray tells WDBJ. "It's a decision I made in the moment based on conviction and principle," he says. The Drudge Report and Fox News have reported the VP rejection. But not everyone's happy. One visitor told the baker he was "just letting you know that I and my friends will never be giving you any business." McMurray told the man he was entitled to his opinion, he says.
