Taliban: We'll Kidnap or Kill Prince Harry

Prince stationed in volatile province for four month tour

(Newser) – The Taliban is hell-bent on harming Prince Harry during his latest combat tour in Afghanistan. "We are using all our strength to get rid of him, either by killing or kidnapping," a spokesman for the Afghan Taliban told Reuters today. "We have informed our commanders in Helmand to do whatever they can to eliminate him." He implied that there were plans for "Harry operations." The third in line for the throne arrived at Camp Bastion in restive Helmand province last week, and will be stationed there for four months.

I can appreciate the tradition of putting male royals in the military to develop leadership and maturity (qualities lacking in many young "men" nowadays in my opinion), however even as a figurehead whose only responsibility would be at best only ceremonial, his death would still be a public relations coup for the Taliban. Perhaps instead he can best serve the war effort with a posting to... Las Vegas? I'm sure that city needs defending.

This makes me mad... Prince Harry is risking soldiers' lives for his stupid PR trip. I can understand why entertainers and politicians would go to Afghanistan but why would anyone want Harry at their base when he is a distraction, a target, and provides no service to the troops? He's a useless liability.
