GoDaddy: No, We Weren't Hacked

It blames technical glitch for yesterday's down time

(Newser) – Domain name seller GoDaddy.com says yesterday's massive outage, which caused thousands of websites to go down for a good part of the day, was caused by a "series of internal network events that corrupted router data tables," TechCrunch reports. In other words, it wasn't hackers, despite a claim to the contrary by a member of Anonymous. Still, "we have let our customers down and we know it," says CEO Scott Wagner. It's bad timing for the firm, which recently underwent a public shakeup of CEOs. The big question is whether customers start getting nervous and head elsewhere.
