(Newser) – Mitt Romney is out with a new ad this morning that's generating some buzz, reports CNN. Repeating Bob Woodward's account of tensions between President Obama and top Democrats during negotiations over raising the debt limit, the ad alleges that during a phone conference, "As President Obama spoke, Nancy Pelosi hit the mute button, went on with their meeting, ignoring the president, not even listening to what he had to say." It concludes: "If he cannot lead his own party, how can he lead America?" Pelosi tells Politico bluntly, "That didn't happen."

Nancy Pelosi has denied Woodward's account that she put Obama on mute.

I am sure bob woodward lied about Nixon also, and the whole Watergate thing was just a lie to sell a book.

Whats wrong with mute?  You can still hear the president.  It's not like she put him on hold. Wow!, RepubliCONS like to really twist things.

The line about if he can't lead his own party how can he lead this country really strikes me. I don't think that a president should have a party affiliation when he takes that office. He or she should cease being a dem or rep. The fact that Mitt looks at it so adversarially doesn't make me think he would do a good job either. Political parties are just outdated, they are archaic and useless. We should have no registered political parties. The superbowl mentality is continuing to ruin not only the voting process but the actual presidency.
