(Newser) – Hockey fans often carp that the NHL's regular season is too long, but this is not the fix they had in mind: The league today canceled the first two weeks as its player lockout continues, reports USA Today. All games are called off through October 24, and given the plodding progress of talks, don't be surprised if another round of cancellations follows. The league lost its entire season as recently as '04-'05.

As a Hockey fan I care, but Bettman and the owners are really trying to kill the league.

Hockey fans should boycott the season when it comes back.  Didn't the owners do this 5 years ago to get a salary cap?  What the hell is wrong now?  They can't control themselves.
