Secret Service Agent Gets Drunk, Hits Cop: Report

Aaron Francis Engler allegedly punched an officer in the face

(Newser) – At least this Secret Service agent wasn't trashing rented property or refusing to pay a hooker. No, Aaron Francis Engler was arrested in Miami this morning for disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence, NBC Miami reports. It all started at 7am when a policeman allegedly saw Engler lying on a street corner. The cop helped up the man—who was said to be slurring words and reeking of booze—and walked him over to a police car.

That's when Engler reportedly stiffened his arms to avoid being handcuffed and even socked the officer in the face—twice. With drivers stopping to watch the scuffle, the officer called for backup and was able to corral Engler with help from two other cops. This all went down just a few hours after President Obama visited South Florida for a rally and a fundraiser.

When any law officer thinks they are above the law, or when an agency's culture encourages that thinking, we're all in trouble. The Secret Service seems to be one of those trouble-plagued agencies, and you've got to wonder about what messages the brass is sending down the line to the agents. Maybe its time to clean house at Secret Service, and let the U.S. Marshal's Service take over some of its functions.

Shows the quality of company this president keeps. Drunken whore mongering thugs who have no respect for authority or citizens. I don't think people have ever been as scared for their safety as we are now while this guy is in charge
