(Newser) – Boston got 20 points from Allen—only it was Tony not Ray—in a 100-96 win over the hapless Grizzlies last night. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce had 23 points apiece while Ray Allen barely got on the scoresheet, sinking two free throws inside of 10 seconds remaining. Juan Carlos Navarro led Memphis with 20 points. Elsewhere in hoops:

  • Detroit didn't look ahead to its big Saturday matchup with Boston as it took care of Toronto with ease, 101-85. Chris Bosh had 23 points, 16 rebounds in a losing effort.
  • Orlando lost another heartbreaker at home, 96-94 against Houston as a tip-in at the buzzer by Adonal Foyle was disallowed after a long replay review.
