(Newser) – One of the NFLs most talented clubs notched its first postseason win in 13 years today as San Diego overcame a 6-0 halftime deficit to knock out Tennessee, 17-6. The visiting Titans succeeded in frustrating star running back LaDainian Tomlinson but allowed quarterback Philip Rivers to pass for 292 yards and one touchdown.

It was a vindication of sorts for oft-criticized coach Norv Turner, in his first year with the Chargers after Marty Schottenheimer was fired for his postseason ineptitude. Said Tomlinson of Turner's predicament: "It was either, get us back to the playoffs and win a game in the playoffs, or you're a failure."
