Tony Scott Was Cancer- Free: Coroner

Still no known motive behind Top Gun director's suicide

(Newser) – Contrary to earlier reports, Top Gun director Tony Scott wasn't suffering from brain cancer or any other serious illness when he committed suicide in August, the coroner says. Scott did, however, have "therapeutic levels" of sleep drug Lunesta and antidepressant Mirtazipine in his body, the Los Angeles Times reports. The report, which finds he died of multiple blunt-force injuries, leaves Scott's motives for jumping off a bridge unclear, notes the Daily Beast. "I never had an inkling he had any health problems ... You'd think he was making his first film from his level of energy and enthusiasm," said a screenwriter.

LOL! Make Top Gun Two, or just kill yourself? A wise choice.
