I see updates on this kid every day, while reports of our drones killing entire families are shrugged off as "no big deal", if mentioned at all. Reminds me of Jessica Lynch; the media pretending that the life of ONE insignificant female matters, in order to distract from the the wholesale slaughter of thousands more. I find this hypocrisy disgusting and unconscionable.

Taliban really shot themselves in the foot over this one. Groups like this depend on public support to survive. But they have to walk a fine line between pushing their ideology without ailienating their supporters. Al Qaeda knows this. Taliban doesn't care. The price not not caring is losing your public support. Which is what they've done by shooting a child. And  now there's enough public pressure on the government to finally DO something about Taliban that they have to act. It's about time.

England needs to make absolutely certain they protect this girl at ALL COSTS to solidly ensure al Qaeda has lost this particular conflict and failed that mission!
