Jessica Ridgeway's alleged killer, Austin Reed Sigg, is seen in this police handout.   (Westminster Police Dept.)

(Newser) – Colorado police have arrested the person they suspect killed Jessica Ridgeway and abducted a woman near Ketner Lake this spring, ABC 7 in Denver reports. At a news conference today, police identified the suspect as 17-year-old Austin Reed Sigg, saying they'd found him after getting a call last night that led them to a home near the Ketner Lake Open Space. Sigg's home is about five miles from Ridgeway's. His mother tells the AP that he turned himself in.

On hearing the news, Jessica's great-grandmother said she was "grateful to God that the community pulled together and the police department didn’t quit." Sigg will be charged with both Ridgeway's murder, and the May disappearance, police said.

What can we do to this young man that is vengeful enough bring Jessica back? How brutal do we have to be to reverse time? What example can we make that is so horrible that something like this will never happen again? This boy was raised in a decent household, with a loving and caring mom and dad. Nobody ever saw anything unusual about him. He acted the same as any other kid his age, all the way through school. He got good grades and was active in social clubs and sports. He always had someone sympathetic to listen to him when he need a shoulder to cry on. Then one day he abducted and brutally killed a little girl. Is that what you all believe?

S--t like this is happening much too often these days. America has turned a corner on the road to hell. It's too bad that greed, fear, arrogance and hatred got the best of us; "We coulda' been a contender..."

Since it would bring back the little girl's life, we should strap a cage full of hungry rats on to this boy's abdomen, then put a fire under it forcing them to burrow into him in order to escape the heat. Animal torture and human torture all at once. Would that be cruel enough?
