(Newser) – founder Erick Erickson, the conservative blogger who endorsed the "sweet meteor of death" over any of the GOP candidates for president, is considering entering the political fray himself, CNN reports. Erickson, who is also a CNN contributor, may challenge Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss in the primaries in 2014, he revealed last night on his talk radio show.

"I had been rather dismissive of it, but in the past two days have been approached by several organizations and individuals I greatly respect who have asked me to really consider it," Erickson said. "I owe them that and will consider it, but am not prepared to commit to it. I have plenty of time to think about it." Conservatives are angry with Chambliss for dissing Grover Norquist's anti-tax pledge.

The more the GOP moves to the right and allows wing-nuts to populate his candidates list, the more the GOP will become irrelevent.. assuming a role as a "Party of No" and a "Party of Creative Dissonance".. just real pains in the butt. Where do these folks come from? By and large they're well-off, fairly educated, and successful -- so what's their problem with the country that gave them their opportunities? I'm thinking -- as I see it in Georgia -- some folks are frightened of the idea of a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural country and want to go back to the days of pre-Civil War (of course, with all the modern amenities). They've forgotten how this country was borne and who it took to get it here.

Just what the Republican party needs. Another slow-witted, foul-mouthed fat guy.
