6.3 Quake Strikes Off California Coast

No tsunami warning issued

(AP) – A large earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Southern California and Mexico this morning, according to the US Geological Survey. The quake, with a preliminary magnitude of 6.3, was recorded at 2:36am local time, 163 miles south southwest of the California city of Avalon. It was at the relatively shallow depth of 6.3 miles. No tsunami warning has been issued.

So the relatively shallow depth makes it least likely for a tsnami to occur, I am taking from this??
