(Newser) – Steve Rubell's Studio 54 archive will be auctioned off Jan. 19, and the treasure trove includes such items as the guest book where co-founder Rubell would write who was expected each evening; drink tickets; a Polaroid of Rubell snapped by Andy Warhol; and of course, numerous pictures of those who frequented the legendary club, including Diana Ross, Farrah Fawcett, and Liza Minnelli.

The LiveAuctioneers.com sale will also include other items that have been stored in Rubell's old apartment for 28 years, including invitations to special events and a Warhol sculpture that could fetch as much as $50,000, the New York Post reports.

A little before my time but the 1980's were even better.  I only wish I could have been born 20yrs earlier.
