(Newser) – Anti-gun protesters are taking their message to a Walmart store eight miles from Newtown. In a rally today, they'll call on the company—the largest gun retailer in the country—to stop selling assault weapons. Activist group Sum of Us will give Walmart a letter supporting the cause, along with boxes containing some 5,000 pages displaying 291,000 signatures, reports the HuffingtonPost.

Speakers at the protest will include Lori Haas, mother of an injured Virginia Tech shooting victim, as well as Pam Simon, who was hurt in the Tucson attack that injured Gabrielle Giffords. Side note: That particular Walmart, in Danbury, Conn., doesn't actually sell what Reuters describes as lethal firearms.

Protestors (of AR-15's) outside a Walmart that doesn't sell the item they are protesting?...hhmmm...the term "dumbasses" comes to mind.

OK, we have anti-gun people picketing Walmart.  Meanwhile Pro-gun people waving US flags in the air show what hypocrites they are, patronizing Walmart to buy guns and maybe butter too. If they are such good americans and want to buy guns, they should go someplace else.   ALL of them on both sides of the 'gun' issue should be boycotting a place which stands for massive sale of cheap non-american goods that wreck our economy, plus paying rock bottom wages a family cant live on, meanwhile hiring two, 20 hr per week 'associates' to avoid giving decent benefits to one 40-hr per week 'associate.'- And treating all the employees like dog crap.   Walmart stands for what went wrong, ---and is staying wrong, in America.
