(Newser) – Lindsey Vonn just took the first step toward recuperating in time for the Olympics: The surgery she had yesterday to repair torn knee ligaments and a fractured shin was successful, her doctor says, adding that he's optimistic she'll recover fully. In slightly less imporant news, People reports that after Vonn was injured in Austria, she flew back to the US on Tiger Woods' private jet. The two are said to be getting closer.
