Teens Now 'Sleep Texting'
Which sounds a lot like wake-texting, honestly

(Newser) – Everybody panic: Our latest youth crisis has teens texting in their sleep. On CNET, Chris Matyszczyk calls it "like sleepwalking, but potentially more amusing." As an expert explains to CBS Philadelphia, “The phone will beep, they’ll answer the text. They’ll either respond in words or gibberish. [It] can even be inappropriate." What the professor describes sounds a lot like texting while awake (example: "Ex-girlfriends contacting ex-boyfriends, saying 'I miss you. I want to see you'"), with one difference. "When they wake up, there's no memory." So ... kind of like drunk-texting, then?

But, the professor insists, this is a real problem. "This interrupts what could be a good night’s sleep, because they're an hour-and-a-half or two hours into their sleep cycle, and they're answering texts or the machines are beeping at them." How to combat this new woe? As Matyszczyk quips, "Clearly, the highly complex, radical remedy is to turn off the phone." Or at least keep it on the other side of the room.

Just goes to show how Cell Phones, FaceBook, MySpace all can be categorized with one word- HOOPLA' Its no wonder the U$D is going into the tank, all the money made off of WHAT, a "Service Industry" What kind of goods does that produce? None that I can see, just a bunch of companies talking people out of $ Bring back Ma' Bell where your phone bill was south of $10. Won't happen, no money to be had in it. Same reason we'll never see cheap OIL again- What corporation wants to see cheap oil? NONE never mind there's a Canadian company GenOil who has a US patent of injecting hydrogen into depleated oil fields to rejuvenate them and generate cheap oil- don't want that do we? DUH

Evann, your pisstakey angle in this summary makes it sound like you acknowledge what a non-story this is. Which begs the question...why write it?
