(Newser) – Security guards who rushed to Oscar Pistorius' home at the sound of gunshots found him carrying his fatally wounded girlfriend downstairs and desperately trying to resuscitate her, according to a South African newspaper. Sources tell Beeld that guards and neighbors heard Reeva Steenkamp's last breaths as Pistorius gave her mouth-to-mouth, but neither he nor arriving paramedics could revive her. A trail of blood marked Pistorius' route from upstairs and blood-soaked towels were on the floor when police arrived, according to the Telegraph's retelling. The four bullet wounds she sustained were in the chest, head, and hand. In other Pistorius news:

  • His uncle, Arnold Pistorius, denied an accusation of premeditated murder and said Pistorius was happy with Steenkamp, the Guardian reports. "They had plans together and Oscar was happier in his private life than he had been for a long time," he said in a statement.
  • Pistorius' exes and their family and friends are disagreeing online about how he treated women, the Daily Mail reports. "I’m so glad Sammy is safe and out of the clutches of that man," wrote the mom of one Pistorius ex on Facebook. That ex had described Pistorius as "certainly not what people think he is. Oscar has such a way with women. She’s probably not the only one he’s got." But another ex tweeted that "I have dated Oscar on and off for 5 YEARS, NOT ONCE has he EVER lifted a finger to me or made me fear for my life."
  • In a talk scheduled for the day she died, Steenkamp was planning to reveal her past in an abusive relationship. "I was in an abusive relationship at the same time [his mother used to abuse him] and all together these factors encouraged my move to Jozi [Johannesburg]," she would have said.
  • In a chilling video for her new reality series, Steenkamp left a prophetic message about death, the New York Post reports. "I think the way that you go out—not just your journey in life—but the way that you go out to make your exit is so important," she said.

I have read everything I can find about this and I don't think he murdered her I think it was an accident. Why would he murder her he loved her. Was there a texts from another man? What happened that would of enraged him so much he shot her through the bathroom door?

More than likely she was shot in the hand trying to protect herself. Seems like she saw it coming.
