(Newser) – Being a teen mom doesn't mean you can't also be a success, as these five celebrities rounded up by The Stir prove:

  • Sofia Vergara was married at 18, had a son by 19, and was divorced a year later. Of course, she went on to rack up a number of Emmys for her role on Modern Family.

  • Aretha Franklin was just 14 when she gave birth to her first son and 15 when she had her second, with another man. She now has two more sons, and 18 Grammys.
  • Suzanne Somers had her son at 19, and was a single mom.

An easy fix to young girls having kids without a supporting father figure in the picture. They get welfare for the first one. When the second kid comes along with no daddy, we take half the support away. Number 3 comes, and goodbye to any support. Tough, but within 1 generation the illegitimate kids will be next to zilch. Why should society pay for someone elses kids. You won't force most fathers to pay. And most of these girls don't know or won't say who the father is. So taxpayers are at the governments mercy.

This is just another way to glamorize babies having babies. I am glad these ladies have been able to support themselves and their children. However, they are the exception to the normal teenage mother. Our children need to be educated on sexual abstinence - not promoting the teenage moms who became household names and have become famous!
