Quaids Speak Out About Ordeal

Dennis and Kimberly Quaid trusted their sick newborns to an LA hospital, and less than 9 hours later, the children's lives were in danger. "Our kids could have been dying," the actor says, "and we wouldn't have been able to come down to the hospital to say goodbye." In their first interview since the incident, they tell the LA Times about their twins' fight for life.

"The stress was overwhelming," Kimberly Quaid says of watching as the Cedars Sinai hospital staff treated the infants for a massive overdose of the blood thinner heparin. The Quaids have sued one of the drug's manufacturers but haven't decided whether to take legal action against Cedars Sinai. "We'd like to give them a chance to right a wrong," said the couple's lawyer. (More Dennis Quaid stories.)
