World traveler Hendrix, in a video grab from KNXV.   (CNN)

(Newser) – Happy St. Patrick's Day, Hendrix. United Airlines accidentally shipped the pooch from Newark to Ireland this week, instead of his home destination of Phoenix, reports CNN via local affiliate KNXV. After the English springer spaniel touched down in Eire, he got to stretch his legs before being sent back in the other direction, making for about 24 hours cooped up in a plane's cargo hold. United has given the family a refund, but the owner wants somebody to get fired, too. "My dog got sent to frickin Ireland?" says Edith Albach.

Yes, Edith. Your dog got sent to Ireland. Stuff happens. United handles 100,000 pieces of luggage per day, and much of the processing is automated. You got your dog back safely, United has given you a refund and apologized... whose job would you like to take away? Don't be a douchebag. Let it go, and move on.

How hard can it be to read the destination tag? Perhaps the airline worker cannot read.

The most stressful 24 hours of my life was when my new puppy was being sent to Ohio from Texas on United, luckily she arrived on time and in good health.
