(Newser) – White House staffers have to take an unpaid day off starting with the May 1 pay period thanks to the sequester, and Politico uses the opportunity to round up some high-profile salaries. (It's not clear how many total days the staffers will lose.)

  • Jay Carney, press secretary: $172,200
  • Tom Donilon, national security adviser: $172,200
  • Valerie Jarrett, senior adviser: $172,200
  • Heather Zichal, deputy assistant to the president: $140,000
  • Gene Sperling, director of the National Economic Council: $172,200
  • Dan Pfeiffer, senior adviser: $172,200
  • Alyssa Mastromonaco, deputy chief of staff: $172,200
  • Jeanne Lambrew, deputy assistant to the president for health policy: $158,500

The government is here to serve and defend the people. As such, they should be the best talent out there, and I for one do not mind paying them a great salary---providing they are great employees.

The only guy more boring than Jay Carney is Harry Reid. Everytime I see this guy I expect CSI Washington to draw a chaulk line around him. Well as far salaries the numbers show a war on woman in the Whitehouse.
