It's not often that a Toronto versus Atlanta matchup means much, but tonight was different, as the two entered the evening 1.5 games apart in the standings. It's now 2.5, after Chris Bosh's 35 points led the Raptors to an 89-78 win. It was an incident-free first meeting between the teams since a hard foul knocked Toronto's T.J. Ford out of action. Elsewhere:

  • Portland used a 14-0 fourth-quarter run to hand Miami its 12th consecutive loss, 98-91. The Heat (8-30) got 37 points, including a club-record 20 in the third, from Dwyane Wade.
  • Washington used hot shooting to defeat the Knicks 111-98 and pull within 1.5 games of Orlando in the Southeast. Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler combined for 54 points.
