Chuck Kobasew had two goals in regulation and the Boston Bruins went on to beat the New York Rangers 4-3 in a shootout Saturday, reports the Associated Press. Kobasew's second goal tied the game with 9:50 left and Zdeno Chara and Phil Kessel scored goals in the shootout for the win. In other NHL action:

  • Backup goalie Mike Smith had 29 saves to lead the Dallas Stars to a 3-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, snapping Columbus' 4-game win streak.
  • Scott Nichol scored two short-handed goals and Chris Mason had 24 saves as the Nashville Predators beat the St. Louis Blues 5-2 for their first win in four tries against the Blues.
