(Newser) – The revolution will not be tweeted, live streamed, or Instagrammed. Not yet, anyway. For now, TV remains America's No. 1 news source, according to a new Gallup poll. And those results held true regardless of age, politics, gender, education, or employment status, Politico reports. Of those surveyed, 55% said TV was their main source for news and current events, compared to 21% for Internet. The news was less reassuring for the future of print media, which only 9% named, while radio was 6%. Of those who said the Internet was their main news source, only 2% specifically identified social media services such as Twitter and Facebook as their go-to medium.

In less headline-worthy news, 94% of those who identified Fox News specifically as their main news source (which was 8% of all surveyed) were either Republicans or leaned Republican, whereas 63% of those who named CNN (7% overall) were Democrats or leaned Democrat. Of the Fox watchers, 97% said they disapprove of the job Obama is doing, while 57% of CNN fans approve.

If the social media's comments left at newspaper and internet news articles then we're all in trouble. The IQ level seems to somewhere around 25%.

I get most of my news from online sources and my twitter feed (which are mostly newsy). When I watch television news, it's usually online stuff because of my unusual hours. I can see more news stories (and other garbage I put on my feed) in less time or when I'm on the go. I pick the stories that interest me and leave the rest to float away. I follow a variety of news (conservative, liberal and news from the UK about America)---which is more eyeopening than one can imagine. While the nation is transfixed on George Zimmerman, we forget there is a guy with US secrets thinking about living permanently in Russia and Egypt is in turmoil. ....there are still things going on in the rest of the world. Now it's time for me to go somewhere and "stand my ground" and still maintain I was "keeping order" after I kill an unarmed teen.
