(Newser) – After she was "Jenny from the block," Jennifer Lopez was, briefly, homeless, she reveals in a new interview with W magazine. At 18, Lopez "butted heads" with her mom and moved out of their Bronx home, Lopez recalls. "I didn’t want to go to college—I wanted to try dance full time. So she and I had a break. I started sleeping on the sofa in the dance studio. I was homeless, but I told her, 'This is what I have to do.'" Of course, it all ended quite well for J.Lo: "A few months later, I landed a job dancing in Europe," she says. "When I got back, I booked In Living Color. I became a Fly Girl and moved to LA. It all happened in a year." Click for the full cover story.

She wasn't on the streets. She had a place to sleep, and could go home at anytime. How does this equate with the real homeless people who have to sleep outside in any kind of weather? No sympathy here.

The Fly Girls were great.Living Color was a great show.Too bad it's not on anymore, but it was probably politically incorrect.Nothing near as funny or original since then on tv.

Oh please. She made the choice to leave home and seek stardom. Most actors that we know, like Sly Stallone slept in their cars until they hit it big. Jewel the singer was homeless. Hilary Swank and her mom were living in their car. I mean she had a home and she choose to leave it to pursue her dreams. It was a sacrifice that paid of for her. Are we suppose to feel sorry for her. make your millions and shut up. You are no inspiration. Just my opinion
