(Newser) – Because nothing will show those Russians who's boss like allowing them to win more medals by taking some of the most successful Olympic competitors out of the running, Sen. Lindsey Graham is proposing the US boycott Russia's 2014 Winter Olympics if the country agrees to give Edward Snowden asylum. "At the end of the day, if they grant this guy asylum it’s a breach of the rule of law as we know it and is a slap in the face to the United States," says Graham, per the Hill.

John McCain says he'd like to see the US respond with tightened human rights sanctions, but wasn't so convinced of Graham's idea. "I think the experience of canceling the Olympics the last time around wasn’t very good," he says. (In other Snowden-related news, the NSA leaker now says he's torture-proof.)

The Olympics has a history of attempting to stay out of politics and keep it about fair and open athletic competition. Leave it to a politician to openly attempt to use athletes for his own political purpose. They have trained for the Olympics for years and he wants to screw it up. As we say down south "You Sir , are despicable".

I'm sure the Olympics Committee and the Russians could care less if the fat, crude Americans show up at the Olympics.

GO TEAM!!!!! Wait! I haven't watch the Olympics since I was a toddler at my grandparents house about 20 years ago. Funny, I don't remember much of them except the people jumping off ramps in their skis with some of them falling.
