Hannah and Ethan Anderson are missing.   (California Highway Patrol)

(Newser) – Cops in San Diego County think a man suspected of murdering a woman and child is on the run with two more children, reports CBS Los Angeles. Authorities are looking for James Lee DiMaggio, 40, and think he abducted Hannah Anderson, 16, and her 8-year-old brother, Ethan. The hunt began after police discovered the remains of Christina Anderson, 44, and a still-unidentified child in DiMaggio's burning home Sunday night.

They think DiMaggio killed them, set fire to the house, and fled with the other two kids, who were last seen Saturday. (The San Diego Union-Tribune raises the possibility that the second body could belong to one of the children.) No motive is known, and police say DiMaggio and Anderson weren't a couple but were close platonic friends. A statewide Amber Alert is in effect.

After reading the main article I'm unclear of why the police suspect this guy. Diamggio wasn't in a relationship with the Mother according to the report, so exactly how sure are they that he isn't laying dead somewhere with the children?

I guess DiMaggio is going for the grand slam on this one. What is up with White people?
