With the Lakers leading by nine points at halftime, Gregg Popovich told his Spurs: "You have to participate in your recovery." They did just that, putting together an unstoppable third quarter that included a 14-0 run and three straight 3-pointers as the clock ticked down, reports the San Antonio Express-News. In other hoops news:

  • In their first game without the injured Carmelo Anthony, Denver had no problem getting contributions from the likes of Allen Iverson (29 points) and Linus Kleiza (23), to down Atlanta 107-100.
  • Houston handed Seattle its 12th straight loss, this time a heartbreakingly close 109-107 as Kevin Durant couldn't add to his 25 points in the waning seconds.
