(Newser) – When the US learned of plans for past chemical strikes, it was able to warn potential victims, but Washington didn't find out about the Aug. 21 attack in Syria until after it occurred. "Let's be clear, the United States did not watch, in real time, as this horrible attack took place," a rep for the director of national intelligence tells the AP. But the intelligence that the Syrian regime was prepping the attack had been collected over the "three days before" it occurred, said John Kerry last week. Thing is, it hadn't yet been "processed," US officials say.

That's because there was too much intelligence coming in, not just from Syria but from places like Libya and Yemen; hours of military communications were being intercepted and needed to be processed, the AP notes. It was when Syrians themselves reported the attack that US officials turned to intelligence on the matter, and uncovered evidence that the regime had been readying chemical weapons prior to the attack. The AP has the full story.

We need someone to make a video thats just like the one i've been seeing about the gas attack, someone needs to step up and show people how easy it is to make a video like this, just wrap some people up and tell them to twitch alot, and by the way I dont think gas is visible, I would make the video - but i'm pennyless because I have had no job in 3 years, but thats another story

Of course we should believe everthing John Kerry says right along with our own beloved dictator to be Obama. Do not worry though if anything goes wrong it has to be George Bush's fault. This is just misdirection to pull attention away from Obamacare and Bengahzi etc. to many screw ups to list with the upcoming midterm elections coming Please think about it the Kardashians can live without your thoughts for a few moments. The USA is not world police how about we send the bill for this to the UN, Quite possibly the most worthless organization next to Americas current leadership. Not our problem SIMPLE stay out of it this has been ongoing has anyone considered the problems we had in the Middle East when the good ole fashioned dictatorships kept their people in check pretty minor when you compare it to today. I am sorry about the people who were killed but what about the countries in South Africa or any other ongoing slaughter in this world that does not have something that benefits the USA or others. Oh thats right not good TV nothing for us who cares.
