(Newser) – The Miami Heat are about as happy as a 9-33 team could be tonight, after Dwayne Wade scored 35 points to lead a charge past the Indiana Pacers 98-96, ending a 15-game losing streak, reports the Associated Press. The streak was the longest in the NBA this season and the second longest in franchise history.

"We wanted it," Wade said, moments after knocking away an inbounds pass to seal the Heat's first win since Dec. 22. The Pacers, who have lost 13 of 17, made it interesting down the stretch as a 9-2 run in the final four minutes cut the Heat lead to two with 1:07 remaining. Wade and the Miami defense, however, held on in the closing seconds.
