Vivek Hallegere Murthy will be President Obama's nominee for surgeon general.   (Facebook)

(Newser) – President Obama has picked an ally in his bid to reform health care to be the next surgeon general. He plans to nominate Vivek Hallegere Murthy, an attending physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School, to replace Regina Benjamin, reports CNN. Murthy is the co-founder and current president of Doctors for America, which bills itself as an advocacy group for affordable health care, reports Politico. But it's the group's previous name that is likely to get the attention of GOP senators during the confirmation process: Doctors for Obama. (It campaigned for him before changing names in 2009.) Meanwhile, click to read about the president's fix for people whose policies got canceled under ObamaCare.

Another crayon for the liberal tendency toward the 'Box of Crayons' theory of government. Despite Libsquawk about being color blind and gender nuetral, everything they do is based on color and gender, never anything about old fashioned 'qualifications'. Being the brainwashed bunch of degenerates that Libs are, they will never see that when you have a box of crayons for government, each crayon wants to color the whole picture IT"S OWN COLOR! Liberalism is cancer and hypocracy................

I think Regina Benjamin got caught eating at McDonald's too often to maintain the whole preventive healthcare image. After all, you don't want the head doc dieing in office from obesity. Since this guy probably worships cows, that eliminates most of the fast food diet threat.
