(Newser) – The Captain and Tennille are getting a divorce, and that means you are about to read and hear roughly 1,000 tortured references to their '70s hit "Love Will Keep Us Together." RumorFix first reported the pending split between Toni Tennille, 73, and "Captain" Daryl Dragon, 71, and People confirms. "I don't know why she filed," Dragon tells TMZ. "I gotta figure that out for myself."

But the website notes that the papers mention health insurance and floats the possibility that the divorce has something to do with his Parkinson's. Says a post on the duo's website: Everything "appeared to the public as them being the ideal model for a 'rock-solid' married pair. 1. Hey senior couples with life savings. If one of you is diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness, consider a divorce and the ill one quit claims ALL of their possessions to the healthy one. Ergo, the ill one, now with no assets goes on medicaid and the illness doesn't transfer your life savings to doctors, clinics, drug companies and to pay for outrageous hospital costs. When it comes to money, this is Caesar's world, eh? God will understand your divorce. 2. If you're a widow or widower and are diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness,, get a living trust now and quit claim all of your possessions to chosen family members. You have no assets, so you're on Medicaid. 3. The incumbents in both of our two ruling parties, Obama, all federal, state and local government pensioners are now and will be living cradle to grave off of the deficit tax revenue that will be taken from your children and grandchildren. So, why not you? Peace, WLeoB, Canton, MI
