(Newser) – When a 19-year-old gets busted on charges of DUI and drag racing, it's a safe bet that mom is going to be ticked. But in the case of Justin Bieber's arrest, mom Pattie Mallette might need to be worried for herself, too, reports TMZ. It seems that Bieber told cops he had taken prescription drugs for anxiety, but he wasn't sure what kind because his mother gives them to him. What's unclear is whether that means his mom gives him her own meds, which is illegal, or whether she simply handles her son's meds.

Bieber left jail in Miami Beach after about an hour on $2,500 bond, and Radar reports that he didn't seem all that worried about the charges, both before and after his release. It quotes one source as saying that he was "giggling like a teenage girl" while locked up. "He appeared to be still under the influence," says another. The Los Angeles Times, meanwhile, notes another headache for Bieber's lawyers: He hasn't had a valid driver's license anywhere for at least six months.
