(Newser) – The Capitals got their fourth straight win in Philadelphia, but more importantly they have completed their improbable ascent from last in the NFL to first in the Southeast Division. After the 4-3 victory, Washington isn't cocky about its new perch, reports the Washington Post. "Staying there is usually the hardest part," said coach Bruce Boudreau. On other NHL ice:

  • Jose Theodore didn't look like a goalie on the mend from a back injury as he made 30 saves in Colorado's 3-1 victory over San Jose.
  • Sam Ganger, the youngest player in the NHL, had two assists in Edmonton's 4-1 defeat of Chicago, as the second-worst power-play team finally began finding its shots.
